I like Zoe Speaks. It has recorded an excellent collection which will touch your soul. Verses speak to past memories everyone relates to. The accompanying instruments- banjo, guitar, fiddle, etc.- add to the music. Beautiful Birds Fly South. http://digitsy.com/us/item/B00008VSCW

I saw you play last summer at a Fine Arts and Crafts expo, and you were phenomenal. My family is from Northern WI, but before that, KY, and you brougth back so many memories of my granddaddy playing the fiddle and banjo to me from my childhood. Will be heading south again this weekend, and hope to make one of the shows you have, to share with the others your impressive voice!!

I recently became aware of your music through Zoe Speaks. WOW! As you know, it really is a wonderful and uplifting sound. Thank you for sharing with all of us out here in radio/record/cd world. The frankness with which you seem to approach life is refreshing. I will enjoy watching and hearing your Star as it continues to rise. Have Fun!

Hey, Carla. I knew Mitch back when, during his Mandala days. I broke contact but heard that when you two got together you made beautiful music. I listened and agreed. I'm definitely one of your fans and hope you're emotionally well, that the children are great, and that your career will soar even higher. Good luck and God bless. I think you're amazingly multi-talented.

Hey there Carla,
I just wanted to poke my head in hear to say that it's really good to see you solo again. It's too bad we never got to spend more time together. Perhaps we could lay a track down together one day. Looks like I'm finally getting something going over here. In the studio in Nov.
All the Best,
Jim

Saw Zoe Speaks for the first time tonight on a PBS station; Broadcast of the Kentucky Masters Musicians festival. Was shocked to learn you have broken up. Love the sound of your music. Especially likes "Redbird River". Best wishes to you. You have a great voice and I love Clawhammer banjo. I got my first banjo for Christmas and am trying to learn clawhammer as a 60 year old with no musical background.
Best Wishes

Carla,
SO glad you came to Ohio last weekend! Some new friends and I have been wanting to get together for a long time. I invited them out and when they suggested going someplace to listen to music, I didn't have a clue what to suggest. Your name popped up on an internet search for folk music and sounded familiar. I think you were in Penninsula, OH last year???
I didn't go to that concert but wanted to. All of you guys(ya'll) were awesome. See even us yanks can appreciate good music (despite lyrics about dreary Cleveland skies-smile). I thought it was classy to be willing to step out of the limelight to highlight your friends. There's a great dynamic between the 3 of you. Hope you come back again.

Thank you for your wonderful song Angel Wings. I am borrowing it for a service and re-burrial of my brother and Father. This song moved my heart so much I was unable to sing it without crying. The freeing of ones soul (my fathers) after a long illness and my My mother's great need to put her son (who died to early)with his Dad. In a very symbolic memorial service for our family. Once, again thank you so much for this song.

My school, Estill County Middle School, recently visited Berea College for a Zoe Speaks performance. This was the first time I had ever heard of Zoe Speaks so this was an amazing experience for me to hear them and their unique sound. I am also writing an article for my school newspaper about this performance and how much everyone enjoyed it. My favorite part of the day was listening to Carla singing "Gypsy Ballad." Growing up in a small town thick with Kentucky heritage and culture, I could relate to many of the stories Carla and Mitch were telling about being raised very close to their grandparents. Thank you all so much for such a wonderful performance and for allowing my schoolmates and I to witness and be apart of it.
